# How Modular Vehicle Barriers Can Eliminate Dangerous Hazards

Blocking traffic from certain areas at an event eliminates dangerous hazards, such as vehicles running into a group of pedestrians or driving into an area that needs to be secured. Many event managers rent concrete blocks or barriers that do not meet ASTM Standards. The problem with concrete blocks is that they are heavy and take up so much space on a flatbed that the company can only deliver so many at a time. With ARX Perimeters’ modular vehicle barriers, you can have up to 400 linear feet delivered at the same time.
## Modular Vehicle Barriers Crash Tested to ASTM Standards
Instead of hoping that no one runs through barriers that do not meet ASTM Standards, rent ARX Perimeters’ modular vehicle barriers. The barriers are tested to ASTM Standards and have an M30/P2 rating, which means a 20-foot section will stop a 15,000-pound vehicle traveling 30 miles per hour from entering a secured area.
Connecting any length of the modular vehicle barriers with a standard extension bar adds more stability and impact resistance. You can also combine them to protect a secured location from all angles. You can create a linear fence-type barrier or enclose an area, such as part of the parking lot where people might line up to get into an event.
When a vehicle hits the barrier, it tips forward so that the bottom part of the barrier lifts into the bottom of the vehicle, forcing it to come to a stop.
